UN Virtual Worlds Day 2026
AI, Spatial Intelligence, and the Citiverse: Shaping Trusted Digital Futures
11 May 2026
Geneva, Switzerland
Save the Date – 3rd UN Virtual Worlds Day
We are pleased to announce that the 3rd UN Virtual Worlds Day, co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) together with ITCILO, FAO, UNDP, UNECA, UNECE, UNECLAC, UN Guatemala, UN-Habitat, UNICC, UNICEF, the UN Innovation Network, UNJSPF, UNRISD, UN Tourism, UNU-EGOV, the UN Futures Lab, the World Bank, WIPO, and WMO, will take place on 11 May 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, at ITU Headquarters.
The 3rd UN Virtual Worlds Day will bring together governments, cities, UN entities, industry, and experts to explore how virtual worlds, spatial intelligence, and the Citiverse —enabled by AI — can support trusted digital transformation.
Across the day, discussions move from global commitments to concrete decisions—from diplomatic alignment to how cities use AI-enabled immersive environments to plan neighbourhoods, manage energy systems, and prepare people for new forms of work. Together, these exchanges show how cities—supported by international standards and multistakeholder collaboration—can turn the Global Digital Compact into implementable, measurable, and people-centred outcomes in the age of AI and immersive digital environments.

We look forward to welcoming you to Geneva in May 2026 for another milestone event shaping the future of inclusive, human-centric, and interoperable virtual worlds.
